Why financial planning matters
Most people avoid financial planning because it feels complicated. It doesn't have to be. Whether you're investing in PPF, growing your EPF corpus, booking an FD, taking your first home loan, or simulating a disciplined dip-buying strategy — understanding the numbers puts you in control.
Our calculators strip away the complexity. Enter your numbers, get your answer instantly. No financial jargon, no hidden fees, no account creation. Just clear, actionable insights to help you make better money decisions today.
What is a SIP calculator?
A SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) calculator estimates returns on mutual fund investments made at regular intervals. Enter your monthly investment, expected annual return rate, and period to see your projected corpus.
What is the current PPF interest rate?
The current PPF interest rate is 7.10% per annum (compounded annually), declared by the Government of India and reviewed quarterly. PPF returns are completely tax-free under Section 80C.
How does the EPF calculator work?
The EPF calculator uses your basic salary, employee contribution (min 12%), employer contribution (12%), current EPF rate (8.25% for FY 2023-24), and years to retirement to estimate your total retirement corpus.
What is the difference between FD and RD?
An FD (Fixed Deposit) is a one-time lump-sum investment at a fixed rate. An RD (Recurring Deposit) involves monthly deposits of a fixed amount — ideal for salaried individuals. FDs generally offer slightly higher rates than RDs.
How is EMI calculated?
EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n ÷ ((1+r)^n − 1), where P = principal loan, r = monthly interest rate, n = tenure in months. Our EMI calculator also shows the complete amortisation schedule.
What is the DipBuyer Simulator?
The DipBuyer Simulator lets you backtest a disciplined dip-buying strategy. Upload an OHLC CSV file (from Yahoo Finance, NSE, or any source), set a dip % threshold, choose fixed amount or fixed shares per buy, and see your full P&L, CAGR, avg cost basis, trade log and comparison against a lump-sum entry — all processed locally in your browser with no data sent to any server.
What is PaperTrade and how does it work?
PaperTrade is a virtual trading simulator where you practice buying and selling stocks with virtual money — zero real money at risk. Open the NSE live chart for any stock in a new tab, read the live price, come back and enter it in the order panel, then execute your paper trade. The tool calculates real-world charges (STT, brokerage, GST, stamp duty) and tracks your portfolio, equity curve, and even analyses your trading psychology — telling you if you're a Pro Trader, Panic Seller, FOMO Buyer or Disciplined Accumulator based on your trading patterns.
Are these calculators free?
Yes — 100% free, forever. No sign-up, no subscription, no hidden charges. All tools on FinCalc are built as a public resource for financial literacy in India.
